The Triangle Chapter of Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) is launching Thursday, December 10, at 6:00 p.m. at The Vault at The Palace International in Durham. Greens will be going. Please RSVP at the SURJ Facebook event page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1696900953864184/.
From the event description:
Please join us in celebrating the launch of a Triangle NC chapter of Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ), a national network that organizes white people in the multi-racial struggle against racism and white supremacy.
We welcome anyone and everyone who is interested in building a movement of committed, courageous, and accountable white folks ready to step up and take risks for collective liberation.
Together we wil hear & share stories about why it's important to organize white people as part of multiracial movements for racial justice and generate ideas about how we can best engage in this work. We will also learn about SURJ's values and work, and find out how you can get involved in the newly forming Triangle chapter.
Please RSVP here if you are seriously planning on coming! http://www.trianglesurj.org/triangle-surj-chapter-launch/
